We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA for jarel.se, the Jarel web app and the Jarel mobile apps. WCAG 2.2 is the set of guidelines from the W3C that describes how to make digital content usable for people with disabilities.
We do not yet meet every requirement. The gaps we know about are listed below.
(a) Keyboard navigation: you can move through our pages with a keyboard. (b) A skip link at the top of each page takes you straight to the main content. (c) Visible focus: the element you are on has a clear focus ring. (d) Reduced motion: we reduce motion when your device asks us to. (e) Screen-reader labels: we label buttons, icons and form fields for screen readers. (f) Colour contrast: we check text and interface colours against the WCAG contrast requirements. (g) Automated checks: a linter checks our web code for accessibility problems, and our browser tests scan key pages with axe.
Screen-reader labels and reduced motion also apply to the mobile apps.
Some complex views, such as the document editor and table review, may not yet work fully with screen readers. We are working on it.
If you cannot use part of Jarel, or something is hard to use with assistive technology, email hello@jarel.se. Describe the page or screen, what you were trying to do and what went wrong. We reply within 5 working days.
